The Hwarang initiative takes shape as Queen Jiso announces that elite young men—regardless of social class—will be selected and trained. Moo-myung (as Seon-u) is chosen, as is the hidden king, Sam Maek-jong, who joins under a false name to observe the political landscape. The palace becomes a stage for rivalries, particularly between Moo-myung and Ji-dwi (Sam Maek-jong), both drawn to Ah-ro in different ways. Ah-ro, meanwhile, is appointed as a court physician’s apprentice to help the newly formed Hwarang. As old grudges and class differences ignite tension, bonds begin forming—though not all are friendly. The journey to becoming true Hwarang has officially begun.
