Kim Hyun‑joon began his acting journey in 2006, formally debuting in films before gaining notable recognition in television. His early film roles include appearances in My Son (2007), Han Gong-ju (2013), and My Ordinary Love Story (2014). On screen, he established himself with diverse television performances, including Flower Band (2012), Plus Nine Boys (2014), and Hogu’s Love (2015). However, one of his standout roles came in 2016 when he joined the acclaimed series Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, portraying Seok Dan-se—a conflicted noble-born younger half-brother navigating social stigma and power struggles during Silla-era Korea. Following Hwarang, Kim continued to build a strong résumé with roles in Black Knight: The Man Who Guards Me (2017), Wok of Love (2018), Dae Jang Geum Is Watching (2018), and more recently, Secret Royal Inspector & Joy (2021), My Sweet Mobster (2024), and Iron Family (2024–25).
