Park Hyung-sik was born on November 16, 1991, in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. He was raised in a middle-class household and is the younger of two brothers. His father worked for BMW Korea, which helped Park develop an early appreciation for structure and discipline. He attended Shingal High School and later enrolled at Digital Seoul Culture Arts University, majoring in Business Administration. Despite his business education, Park was drawn to the performing arts from a young age and began training in music and performance. He became a trainee at Star Empire Entertainment during his teenage years and was later selected as a member of the boy group ZE:A (Children of Empire), marking the beginning of his public career. His stage experience and vocal strength in the group laid the foundation for his eventual pivot to acting, where he would later achieve great success.

Park Hyung-sik began his entertainment career in 2010 as a member of the K-pop boy group ZE:A, gaining modest recognition through music and variety shows. His breakthrough came with The Heirs (2013), where he played a supporting role. He gained further popularity through High Society (2015), and Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016–2017), where he starred alongside other young stars such as Park Seo-joon and Kim Taehyung (V of BTS). In Hwarang, Park played the role of Sam Maek-jong, the hidden king, portraying a complex character torn between duty and personal identity. His performance was critically acclaimed for its depth and emotional range. After Hwarang, Park took on the lead role in Strong Girl Bong-soon (2017), which became a commercial hit and solidified his reputation as a leading man. He has since appeared in several popular dramas including Suits (2018), Happiness (2021), and Doctor Slump (2024). Known for his versatility and warm screen presence, Park has successfully transitioned into film as well, with a notable debut in the historical movie Juror 8 (2019).
