Choi Won‑young, born Choi Seong‑wook, began his journey in the arts by studying stage design at Sangmyung University. He then went on to earn a Master’s in Advertising and Public Relations at Hongik University. He made his acting debut in the hit 2002 comedy film Sex Is Zero. Over more than two decades, Choi has built a solid career across film and television, earning acclaim for his versatility in roles ranging from historical sageuk to modern thrillers.

Choi’s breakout came early with Sex Is Zero (2002), followed by significant supporting roles in TV dramas like Queen Seondeok (2009). He gained widespread recognition in While You Were Sleeping (2011) and the crime thriller Your Time Is Up (2012), which premiered at the Busan International Film Festival.
