Urk’s fragile peace is shattered once again when Shi-jin and Sergeant Seo Dae-young are sent on a covert mission. They're ambushed in the mountains, forcing them into a dangerous shootout with well-armed smugglers. Back at the base, radio silence leaves everyone anxious. Mo-yeon tries to remain calm, but her hands tremble, her breath shortens—this isn't just worry. It's love in its rawest form. Hours pass like days until the chopper returns, blades slicing through the dusk. Shi-jin emerges injured but alive. She runs to him, embraces him, cries into his shoulder. They don't speak much—but in that moment, everything is said. Later, as he sleeps, she writes a letter in her journal: “If you go again, take my heart with you. So at least something returns.”
