Sun Zhong Huai

Sun Zhong Huai is a Chinese film and television producer and director. He graduated from Renmin University of China with a bachelor’s degree in economics and later earned an EMBA from the same university.

Career highlights:

After university, Sun entered the internet media industry. He served as Content Director for NetEase’s portal and in 2002 joined TOM Online as head of online production. In July 2003 he joined Tencent, becoming the founding General Manager of Tencent.com and overseeing its content operations. In July 2013 he was appointed to lead Tencent Video, helping to grow it into China’s leading online video platform. As of mid-2025, Sun Zhonghuai is a Tencent company Vice President and serves as Chairman of Tencent’s Online Video Business Unit. As head of Tencent Video and Penguin Pictures, Sun has overseen many of Tencent’s major content projects. Overall, Sun’s career has spanned a wide range of genres, from costume epics and romances to reality competition shows and feature films, reflecting his role in building Tencent’s content portfolio.
