Born October 8, 2001, in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, Percy Hynes White is the only child of actor/writer/director Joel Thomas Hynes and actress/writer/producer Sherry White. He began his acting journey at age 2 in local short films and, by age 7, had his first screen role in Down to the Dirt (2008). He studied at a performing arts school in St. John’s for two years, nurturing his passion and talent.

Career Highlights

Between 2008–2016, Percy built a strong foundation with roles in shorts and feature films such as Crackie (2009), Cast No Shadow (2014)—for which he won critical acclaim—and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014). He transitioned to television with recurring roles in The Slattery Street Crockers, Murdoch Mysteries, Between, and Odd Squad. His breakthrough came as Andy Strucker in The Gifted (2017–2019), an X-Men series, followed by a starring role in CBC's Pretty Hard Cases (2021–2022). In 2022, he played Xavier Thorpe—a psychic artist and love interest—in the Netflix/Tim Burton series Wednesday. To prepare, he learned archery, painting, fencing, stunts, rowing, and dance intensively while filming eight episodes in Romania.
