Miles Millar (born 1967) is an Australian‑British screenwriter, producer, showrunner, and director. Born in Australia, he moved to the United Kingdom at age 9. He's a graduate of Claremont Fan Court School, Christ’s College, Cambridge, and the Peter Stark Producing Program at USC, where he met writing partner Alfred Gough. Millar’s early studies in literature and film, combined with formal training in producing, led to his first major sale at USC—a buddy‑cop comedy titled Mango. Teaming with Gough, he broke into Hollywood, and their partnership spans decades, rooted in shared education and creative synergy
Career highlights:
Together with Alfred Gough, Millar co‑created the long‑running hit Smallville, redefining superhero TV from 2001–2008. They went on to develop series like Into the Badlands and The Shannara Chronicles.
