Meredith Averill (born March 20, 1982, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, USA) is an American television writer and producer. She earned her degree in screenwriting from New York University, where she developed a keen interest in storytelling for TV and film. Early in her career, Averill secured internships at MTV and NBC before serving as an assistant to veteran writer–producers André Nemec and Josh Appelbaum. Her big break came as a writer on ABC’s Samurai Girl, Life on Mars, and Happy Town, which led to a pivotal three‑year tenure as scriptwriter and producer on the critically acclaimed CBS legal drama The Good Wife.
