Matt Lambert

Matt Lambert (born May 19, 1985, in Los Angeles, California) is a Berlin‑based filmmaker, photographer, screenwriter, creative director, and curator. He studied fine art, graphic design, and animation in the U.S. before expanding his creative practice in Germany and the UK. Lambert’s work contrasts high‑end fashion commercials (for Calvin Klein, Gucci, Covergirl, etc.) with intimate, often queer‑centered short films and music videos. He lives in Berlin with his husband—a producer with whom he frequently collaborates—and is currently developing his debut fiction feature, alongside other multimedia projects

Lambert began his career directing animation and design-based work before transitioning to shooting people and short films in Berlin. His early award-winning pieces include We Who Are Young Are Old and Out of This World. His signature style—marked by soft light, close-up imagery, and explorations of intimacy and sexuality—emerged in notable films like His Sweat, which garnered 15 million views on Nowness.
