Career Highlights
Lee made his acting debut in 2012 with the KBS teen drama School 2013. His early supporting roles came in You Are the Best! and Golden Rainbow (2013), earning him a Best New Actor nomination at the KBS Drama Awards. Over the following years, he built a solid resume with appearances in Blood, Six Flying Dragons, Secret Healer, Gogh, The Starry Night, and played King Sunjo in Mirror of the Witch (all in 2015–16).
His breakthrough came in late 2016 when he portrayed the antagonist Heo Chi‑hyun in The Legend of the Blue Sea. His layered performance—particularly the emotional turmoil and villainous turn—resonated strongly, resulting in fan praise and a Special Award nomination at the 2016 SBS Drama Awards. He expressed gratitude for viewers' support for his villainous role and continued working hard to improve.
Since then, he's continued to expand his range, notably winning Best Supporting Actor at the 2019 MBC Drama Awards for Rookie Historian Goo Hae‑ryung, and earning a nomination for Excellence in a Miniseries at the 2020 MBC Drama Awards for Dinner Mate.
