Gandja Monteiro is a Brazilian-American director raised between New York City's Lower East Side and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She began making films at 17 and was traveling internationally from just three months old, fostering a rich, multicultural perspective that informs her work. She holds a degree in film from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, attended the AFI Directing Workshop for Women, and participated in Fox’s TV Directing Lab and Universal’s Feature Director Lab

Career highlights:

Gandja directed episodes 105 and 106 of Netflix’s hit Wednesday, following Tim Burton’s initial four episodes. She also helmed two episodes of The Witcher (Season 3), three episodes of Marvel/Disney's Agatha All Along, and the final two episodes of Dead City (The Walking Dead spinoff). Beyond genre TV, she served as Producing Director for Season 4 of Showtime’s The Chi, including the finale, directed episodes of Vida, Brand New Cherry Flavor, Panic, and is attached to upcoming feature films like SABU (starring Anthony Ramos & Bad Bunny) and HAGS
